Con artists pretending to be from Providence Home Health Services are calling to trick clients out of Social Security and bank account numbers and other sensitive information.
They are trying to capitalize on the earlier theft of medical and financial records of 365,000
customers from an employee’s van. According to Providence Home Health Services, the scammers are not tied to that crime and don’t have the numbers. Instead, they ask for personal information so they can “verify” the stolen data.
