A computer with the names and Social Security numbers of approximately 70,000 current and former employees of Ford Motor Company has been stolen. The theft is reported to have occurred in November, 2005.
Ford also alerted the three major credit rating agencies. The car maker has informed affected employees and has offered to pay for credit-monitoring services. Ford says it has no evidence that the information has been used for identity theft.
